I claim no involvement with the video presented tonight. I was at the Sounders FC game (watching D.C. United trounce the Sounders). I'm pretty sure it was Eric who promoted this video. Considering how many bugs he's killed in the WiX v3.5 IIS7 custom action, I guess he deserves a video of his choice.

WiX toolset source and releases move to CodePlex.

Since it's launch in 2004, the WiX toolset has been completely hosted on SourceForge.net. SourceForge is fine but feels a bit clunky and a little behind the times. About a year ago I started looking at alternatives since open source hosting platforms are now a dime a dozen. In the end, I didn't find a single platform that offered everything I wanted. However, CodePlex provides Mercurial and a much better file release system than SourceForge so I decided to use those for WiX. For now bugs and the mailing list do not move (I'm still looking).

WiX Working Group video of the night, Kid Cudi's presentation skills.

I've been presenting a lot lately. Presenting on lots of different topics with lots of different styles. On one day I'll present a slide deck that is more pictures of boats, space shuttle engines and cats than words. A couple days later, I'm present a typical text dense data dump that is common in Microsoft reviews where I squished 7 months of my existence into one hour (with questions). The first presentation got lots of smiles and thanks for the high level overview. The second presentation earned me much appreciated praise:
