WiX Toolset v4-rc.1 Available so Upgrade Now

The WiX Toolset v4 first release candidate is available now. If it feels like Preview 1 just came out, it did. WiX v4 release candidates are coming out about once a month now. Let's talk about what that means.

First, there are no new features in the WiX v4 release candidate. We fixed 50'ish bugs reported by those people that picked up WiX v4-preview.1 Thank you to those of you that did.

Second, now it is time to pick up WiX v4-rc.1. If you use Visual Studio, install the latest version of FireGiant's HeatWave and it will help you convert your WiX v3-based projects. If you use the command-line, start with the WiX documenation.

Finally, I'm going to repeat myself. It is time to pick up WiX v4-rc.1. Report any issues you hit in the release. The holidays are coming up. That might be the perfect bit of quiet time for you try upgrading your .wxs code to see how things go.

That's it. Go upgrade. Now.
