I actually have the better part of two pages started into another blog entry about Windows Installer Components when I realized that I had never talked about the "Two Axioms of Setup". These two axioms I'm about to present serve as the foundation for everything I do in the setup domain. I'll refer back to one or both of these axioms often.
Well, it's happened. Google has finally caught up with me.
It's been over two weeks since I dropped an entry in here. I've actually had a blog entry sitting around waiting for me to finish that tries to define a bunch of terms that I use to describe things in the setup domain.
Setup is, in its simplest form, the process of getting the resources (such as files and registry keys) that make up a software program transferred from a source (such as a CD or web server) and configured on a target machine.
Tonight was my first swing lesson at the Century Ballroom on Capitol Hill. That meant I had to bail out of a very fascinating conversation with a couple team mates and battle traffic into Seattle at 18:30 today. I must say it was completely worth it.
What does one say when one shows up late to a party where everyone else seems to be happily chatting away at each other? Hello? How are you doing? This is quite a nice rug don't you think? Something of a medium shag, I do believe.
