WiX Toolset v3.10.3 Released
Today we release WiX Toolset v3.10.3. If you already installed v3.10.3 release candidate then you are already up to date. No need to do anything. Otherwise, we highly recommend upgrading to v3.10.3 to get the latest security fix and bug fixes rolled up. Seriously. Upgrade to this release as soon as possible.
WiX v3.10.3 is the final release in WiX v3.10. Almost 9 months ago, we responded to a security vulnerability that most affected setup executables like Burn. As we attempted to address the vulnerability we uncovered additional problems in Windows and .NET Framework that we had to work around. The work arounds introduced a couple bugs into Burn’s layout functionality that are all fixed in v3.10.3. As always, Bob has more details on his blog.
Thank you to all who helped address the security issue, report the regressions, fix the regressions and test each build we made along the way. I personally appreciate all that you’ve done for the WiX Toolset.
